Back to basics

Last night the Cub Scouts held a Back To Basics night where the idea was to have anight with no lights and do activities from the past.

Game one was to do a torch hunt for corks in the grounds of the den.

Then the Cub Scouts worked on blackboards and chalk, having to draw Australian animals and reef knots. Talk about the skill of drawings and the enthusiasm on taking up the challenge. Certainly was a different concept for them. The Cub Scouts were told of why we use Chalk and slate back in the days.

Finally they worked on their skits for Region Camp and theu are lookong polished.

Well done to Elliott for his appointment to Second and earning his Leadership badge.

Also congrats to Ben S for earning his Gold Boomerang and Ryker for Pets Level 1.

Term 4 Kicks off

So we are back and we have come back on a high.

First we had to shuffle the deck and reorganise of Sixes, this is always a challenge and  one that works well once it is all in place.

Second we invested four new Cub Scouts - 3 from Joeys - Tony, Cody  & Jacob plus  Kaitlyn who has been waiting patiently for the day to arrive.

After what was a long parade we got into a night of drawing coat of arms for our banner for Cub Scout Region Camp. These wonderful symbols of each Cub Scout will fly high at Camp.

A couple of games thrrown in and another long parade - lots of badges to hand out, and it was all over.

It was good to see so many back and it is great to be back on deck and into the swing of things.

There are more changes on the horizon but they can wait till another day!

Till next Tuesday - keep smiling and see you all then.

Term 4

After what can only be decribed as the busiest Term 3 ever, I can finally start to get things back into a normal pattern.

Term 4 starts back on Oct 9, this night we have a reshuffle of the sixer and seconds, invest joeys and a new cub scout, plus a night to start working toward camp in November.

Next Tuesday you must bring back the Air Activities forms and payment as the cut off date for confirmed numbers is Oct 12.

Now that things are back to normal I hope to keep the posts up from now on.
